Gleb Skvortsov was born in St. Petersburg, where he began his musical studies in the famous Glinka College then pursued them in the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire where he received the diploma with distinction in choral conducting.
After winning the prestigious Evgeny Mravinsky prise he continued his orchestral conducting study in Geneva where he received a scholarship from the Circle Romand Richard Wagner.
Gleb Skvortsov has worked as an assistant to Michel Corboz, Dimitry Kitajenko, Emanuel Krivin and Fabio Luisi. He conducted St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra Kappella, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Lyon National Orchestra, l`Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Geneva Chamber Orchestra.
For ten years Gleb was the director of Geneva University Choir that became the most prominent Geneva’s choral ensembles interpreting great works with symphonic orchestras. He also created Geneva University Orchestra.
In addition, he was an initiator and artistic director of several musical projects including Swiss premier of Shostakovich “Moskva – Tcheriomouchki”, “The tale of Pope and his servant Balda” and also the French version of the opera by Nino Rota “Il cappello di paglia di Firenze” performed in Geneva.
